Lie boards are not used for fittings.
We fit first on ball flight. The center of a good shot pattern is measured and used to inform the lie angle adjustment.

We developed a system where a groove is precisely cut around the equator of the golf ball. This groove is placed exactly perpendicular to the hitting surface using a 3d printed placement fixture.
The golf ball groove produces a vertical reference line that is compared to groove lines showing the dynamic impact angle. This angle can then be read to .001 degrees. This data also informs the lie angle adjustment.
All loft and lie adjustments are made using the Mitchell Steel Club Signature machine.
The Steel Club Signature machine is the latest evolution of the world's best golf club adjusting machine using a patented dual gauge assembly that tracks on a precision ground slide-rail for measuring and adjusting loft/lie angles.
